Page 1 of 4 A warm spring night in Modesto - no better conditions for stand up comedy. The place filled up quickly, with a young, energetic audience that was ready for a good time. The room was painted with rich, vibrant colors that both soothed and inflamed. Gossamer fabric hung in elegant droops, which lowered the ceiling to an almost uncomfortable degree and partially concealed the ducting and other industrial infrastructure. Isaac Ames was our host for the event, and took the stage acapella early on to announce that a sound concern would cause a minor delay. He mentions later that due to the setback, some sets would be truncated in length. Not long after, he's shouting into the live mike - won't be long now... |
